Why You Should Be Planning Your January Marketing Before Thanksgiving.

Medspas should plan January marketing in November. Patients who see your content in December are the ones who book in January, and January and February are often slower revenue months once holiday gift cards start getting redeemed. Lock in your themes, treatment priorities, any promotion, and your first two weeks of content before Thanksgiving.

Picture two practices on January 2nd.

Practice A is posting the first piece of a Q1 calendar she built in November. Her new year content is already scheduled. Inquiries started coming in on December 28th, because her content warmed up her audience before the year even turned over.

Practice B is staring at a blank calendar on January 3rd. She's throwing together a promotion that feels rushed and watching Practice A's engagement with mild resentment.

Don’t be Practice B.

Why should medusas plan January marketing in November?

Because content works on a delay.

A patient might see your post today and book right away. She still won't be in your chair today. The posts that fill your January schedule are the ones she sees in December, and those posts need to be planned now.

There's a second reason. January is when every practice, gym, and wellness brand launches a "new year" offer at the same time. The practices that get noticed are the ones whose content was already building momentum before the noise started.

And there's the money side. Industry advisors note that January and February tend to be lighter revenue months, partly because the gift cards and packages sold in November and December get redeemed early in the year (American Med Spa Association). A full schedule doesn't always mean full revenue. January marketing is how you bring in new patients while your calendar is busy redeeming last year's sales.

“The best time to decide what your January looks like is November. The second best is December. Everything after is just you playing catch-up”

What are January Patients Are Actually Looking For?

Before you plan the content, understand the patient.

The woman researching treatments in January is motivated. New year energy, the urge to finally invest in herself, the feeling that this is the moment to stop putting it off.

She's also completely over "new year, new you." Every brand in her feed is saying it. The practices that stand out speak to the real desire underneath it without the cliché.

"This is the year you stop saying maybe someday about the treatment you've been considering for three years" hits differently. It's specific. It's honest. It sounds like a provider who actually knows her.

Plan your content around her mindset, not the date on the calendar.

What should be on your November Planning Checklist?

Lock these in before Thanksgiving:

1. Your January themes. Pick two or three story lines your content will follow, like a fresh start, investing in yourself, or finally doing the thing. Commit to them.

2. Your treatment priorities. Decide which treatments you want to move in January, then plan educational content for late December that warms your audience up before the new year.

3. Your promotion, if you're running one. Design it, write it, and schedule it before December 20th. Lead with value, not a countdown or a discount war.

4. Your first two weeks of content. Written, designed, and scheduled. Not sitting in a folder. Scheduled.

5. Your Q4 numbers. Which posts drove saves, profile visits, and inquiries this fall? Let that shape January, not a guess.

6. Your content shoot. If your library is running low, book your Q1 shoot now so January isn't built on leftovers.

Planning Q1 in November is not Type-A behavior. It is the difference between enjoying your holidays and spending them anxious about the content calendar sitting empty on your laptop.

Planning January in November isn't extra. It's the difference between a January you planned and a January that happens to you.
